Book Launch “Multiple Crafts: poets in the other arts”

The Book Fair of Porto will host a book launch event for “Ofício Múltiplo: poetas em outras artes” on the September 12th 2018 at 5 pm in the Almeida Garrett library.

The book is included in the Frontiers of Knowledge collection, through which the Comparative Literature Institute aims to publicize the research results of the scientific program “Literature and the Frontiers of Knowledge: Policies of Inclusion”. The books published in this collection result from critical and theoretical work done, by members of the ILC and other renowned researchers, on the three fields of action that have occupied our attention for two decades: Inter/Transculturalities, Intersexualities and Intermedialities.

“Ofício Múltiplo: poetas em outras artes”, organized by Joana Matos Frias, Pedro Eiras and Rosa Maria Martelo, probes the work of authors who resort to various kinds of artistic languages.  We use the phrase “ofício múltiplo” (“multiple crafts”) to describe this multiplicity of creative media. In its ample diversity, this collection outlines a journey across boundaries which challenges the established epistemological divisions between the arts and tests the waters of intermedial invention.
