Isabel Caldeira

Isabel Caldeira is Associate professor at the Faculty of Letters, Senior Research Fellow of the Center for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra, and colaborator in the research field “Intersexualities” of the Instituto de Literatura Comparada Margarida Losa (ILCML), University of Porto. She has taught literature and culture of the United States of America at the undergraduate level, and literature from the African diaspora and feminist studies at the post-graduate level. She has published on African American literature and culture and literature from the African diaspora and racism under the lens of post-colonialism and feminism. She is currently amember of the Editorial Board of Revista Crítica de Ciências Sociais (RCCS) and of Via Panorâmica: Revista Electrónica de Estudos Anglo-Americanos,and member of the Scientific Boards of the Rodopi Series, Critical Approaches to Ethnic American Literature and of the Journal Faculty of Letters, Hacettepe University, Ancara. She is the president-elect and former member of the Advisory Board of the Inter-American Studies Association.
