Ana Luísa Amaral wins LETEO 2020 award
Ana Luísa Amaral was awarded the LETEO 2020 Prize in Spain, which annually honors an important international literary figure. This award, which is already in its 18th edition, has been awarded to authors such as Paul Auster, Martin Amis, John Benville, Enrique Vila-Matas, Adonis, and Michel Houellebecq, Antonio Gamoneda and Juan Gelman, among others.
As Rafael Saravia, the head of the Leteo Cultural Club, explained, Ana Luísa Amaral is “one of Portugal’s most important living poets”, having been a finalist for the Reina Sofia Prize for Ibero-American Poetry twice.
In addition to the award session, scheduled for October 16th at the Ciudad de León Auditorium, from 8:30pm, several events will be organized around Ana Luísa Amaral’s poetry, including Reme Remedios’ exhibition.
