“In this volume n. 43, other bodies, other cities, new ways of living, the art of the encounter between criticism – our own way of producing “literature” -, the poetic (which in the end defines us as a field of knowledge) and the commitment that makes the critical-literary exercise, also, an ethical gesture founded in the social: here, one does not speak “for”, but one speaks “with”, as Antonio Gramsci teaches us well, in his Prison Notebooks (s/d).
In a word: this issue, with its diverse, diverse, and quantitatively marked by diversity (and the texts of the Varia section are in tune with this orientation), wants, in its own way, to demarcate (why not, to found) also the emergence of new forms of Beauty. Not of a Beauty to classical tastes that, in the end, reinforce common and excluding places; however, places where “the good and the beautiful”, distinctly distinguishable, also in literary studies by the English acronym WASP (White, Anglo-Saxon & Protestant). Here, other Beauties, like those of Al Berto, for whom it was worth “(…) dying in an overdose of beauty”.
