Letícia Simões

Letícia Simões is a PhD student in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, where she investigates the intermediate relationships between image and text, as well as writing and self-narratives, in alternative comics production. She has a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. She has a Master’s in Contemporary Arts Studies at the Universidade Federal Fluminense, with a scholarship from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development/CNPq, specializing in the intersections between cinema, literature and visual arts, with special emphasis on the practices of autobiography and contemporary self-writing. Her professional journey is divided between creative writing, audiovisual production and teaching in the area of Cinema. Her main activities include writing and directing three documentary feature films with the theme of Brazilian literature, and a documentary feature film written and directed by him, of an essayistic and autobiographical nature. She also worked writing cinematographic scripts for directors such as Marcelo Gomes, Filipa Reis and João Miller Guerra, Marcelo Lordello, José Filipe Costa and Hilton Lacerda, whose films were shown and awarded at Brazilian and international festivals.
