Danilo Augusto de Athayde Fraga is a Ph.D. candidate in Literary, Cultural, and Interart Studies at the University of Porto and in Literary Studies at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). With a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and a degree in Letters, he specialized in Higher Education Teaching and in Public Policies. He has been awarded scholarships from CNPq, CAPES, and FAPESB, participating in research projects “The Writer and His Multiples,” “Languages and Education,” and “Literature and Orphanhood” at the Faculty of Letters and the Institute of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences (IHAC) at UFBA, in addition to editing the “Hyperion” journal from the Faculty of Letters. He also held a master’s level scholarship at the University of Oslo, where he conducted research on human rights in Brazil.. He has worked as a professor of Humanistic Formation at the University of Salvador and has taught at various colleges and preparatory courses. He regularly publishes academic, critical, literary texts, and translations in academic and literary journals and newspapers and is the author of the books “Poemas,” “Zumbi,” “Sonhos e outros sonos,” and “Estar na Grama,” which will be released in Portugal in January 2024. His doctoral project carries out a comparative analysis of the development of ideas from Renaissance humanism and scientific rationalism, through the poetic theme of the “opening of the World Machine” in the works of Dante, Camões, and Drummond.
