Since 2016, the National Library of Spain has been celebrating Women Writers’ Day on 15 October. This initiative aims to vindicate and highlight the cultural legacy of women in the literary world.
Through the “Editatona de las escritoras ibéricas” we want to continue to contribute to reducing the gender gap in the world of free knowledge through Wikipedia, giving more visibility to women writers, their work and their legacy in different languages of the Iberian Peninsula.
That’s why we’re proposing a face-to-face, multilingual editing marathon to improve the content of Iberian women writers in Basque, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese, Spanish and other languages. Help us increase the information and visibility of this topic in the world’s largest and most consulted encyclopaedia.
