Ciclo Cineclube LASTRO – December 2025
Title: Sweet Child of Mine

Premise: Eles deveriam ser inocentes… mas escondem algo perturbador. Esse ciclo explora as figuras inquietantes das crianças malignas no cinema de terror e as múltiplas representações que elas podem ter em tela. O ciclo surgiu a partir de um projeto cujo intuito é mapear e categorizar diferentes filmes de terror que possuem crianças malvadas em suas narrativas. O objetivo seria entender como essas crianças são retratadas dentro do horror e se há alguma mudança histórica ou cultural vivida por este subgênero ao longo das décadas. Estes filmes questionam até que ponto o “mal” é nato ou construído. Entre a fragilidade e o terror, estas figuras infantis expõem os medos mais profundos sobre a família, o futuro e a própria ideia de humanidade.

LASTRO Film Cycle – November 2025
Title: Shadows of the Declining South
Curator: Carolina Leão
Premise: This cycle aims to explore the Southern Gothic genre from a cinematic perspective. Known for its dark atmosphere, fearless exploration of deeply flawed characters and decaying setting, this cycle will approach how these themes are showcased and interpreted through four different films which will ensure a turbulent yet engaging journey through this genre.

Premise: This film cycle will address the figure of the vampire and its representation over the decades, whose presence raises existentialist questions about the promise of eternal life when confronted with the inevitability of death.
