Ana Sabino

Ana Sabino is a researcher for Margarida Losa Institute for Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, where she is responsible for managing, editing, and communicating its scientific publications. Her research interests are mainly related to reading, the form of the book (including the form of letters), but also, more generally, to literary theory, to language and its possibilities. She has a PhD in Materialities of Literature at FLUC, with the thesis «Instructions for reading: a study on graphic conventions for the presentation of the written word», delivered in 2020. She has a master’s degree in Literary Theory at FLUL, where she wrote «Literature for the nearsighted: a close look at matters of form in Literary Theory», in 2014. She has a degree in Communication Design from FBAUL, since 2006 (pre-Bologna). She was a professor of Typography and Design Theory at ESART-IPCB between 2021 and 2023 and a researcher at the research group ReCodex: Formas e Transformações do Livro (CLP-FLUC) between 2014 and 2024.
