Fernando Beleza is a Lecturer in Portuguese Studies in the Department of Modern Languages at Newcastle University (UK). He is the co-editor of the volume of essays Mário de Sá-Carneiro, a Cosmopolitan Modernist (Peter Lang, 2017). His research focuses on modern and contemporary Luso-Afro-Brazilian literatures and film. He has published articles and book chapters on modernist cosmopolitanism(s), race, gender, and sexuality in Lusophone (post)colonial literatures and cultures, and Luso-Afro-Brazilian ecologies.
