Fernando Velasco

Fernando Velasco is a PhD candidate in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies at the University of Porto, where he develops a thesis on Herberto Helder’s work, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). He has a bachelor in Social Communication from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where he has worked as a junior researcher in IDEA (ECO-UFRJ’s Advanced Studies Program), having been funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). He holds a master in Communication and Culture, also from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, having once more been funded by CNPq. He is currently a member of Margarida Losa Institute of Comparative Literature, at the University of Porto. As a cinema and television screenwriter, he has authored documentary and fictional pieces, exhibited in different countries, both in festivals and commercially.
