João Henriques

João Carlos de Bastos Henriques is currently pursuing a PhD in Literary, Cultural, and Interartistic Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. His academic and professional journey is strongly shaped by international experiences and a deep commitment to social engagement. He has participated in multiple Erasmus+ programs in countries such as the Czech Republic, Italy, and Finland, where he developed expertise in formal and non-formal education, social inclusion, and human rights. His work includes facilitating workshops on refugee and migrant integration and leading storytelling activities aimed at fostering inclusion within marginalized communities. Exposure to diverse cultural contexts has enriched his interdisciplinary approach, allowing him to explore the intersections of literature, identity, and sociocultural diversity. His academic background in education and literature provides a strong foundation for analyzing the social dimensions of culture and education. Additionally, he has actively contributed as a speaker at conferences and events on migration, human rights, and European policies, collaborating with various institutions and experts in the field.
