Jorge Costa Lopes is an integrated member of ILCML and PhD in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies (FLUP – Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto), with the thesis As Vozes do Silêncio – As Marginalia de Vergílio Ferreira nos livros de Fernando Pessoa, Clarice Lispector e Eduardo Lourenço. Author of the books: Sobre o Riso e o Cómico em Vergílio Ferreira (2014) and As Polémicas de Vergílio Ferreira (2010). Also editor and prefacer of Jornal de um Artista by Beldemónio (2008). Winner of the 2014 Vergílio Ferreira Award, essay category (C.M.Gouveia), and of the 2005 APE /IPLB Revelation Award in Literary Essay. He is currently completing a postdoctoral about Óscar Lopes’ “problematic realism” in the column “A crítica do livro” of the O Comércio do Porto’s cultural supplement.
