Martha earned a PhD in Film Studies from King’s College London, published her book New York City and the Hollywood Musical: Dancing in the Streets (Palgrave, 2016), co-edited the volume Musicals at the Margins: Genre, Boundaries, Canons (Bloomsbury, 2021) and is currently co-editing a collection titled Women and New Hollywood. She has published articles in journals like Screen, The Soundtrack and the Journal of Cinema and Media Studies.
