Daniel Floquet

Daniel Floquet graduated with a degree in Literature from the Federal University of Ceará in 2007, before moving on to the Faculty of Arts at the University of Porto (FLUP) in 2008, where he completed a Master’s degree in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies with a dissertation entitled A Pulverização das Dicotomias em Myra, de Maria Velho da Costa. He was awarded his PhD in September 2026 with the thesisO Sangue Puxa o Sangue: Representações da Violência em Maria Velho da Costa e Edna O’Brien, also at FLUP, with the support of a PhD scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (SFRH/BD/129705/2017). He is a research associate at the Margarida Losa Institute of Comparative Literature (ILCML) and CETAPS, research units affiliated with the Faculty of Arts at the University of Porto. His main research interests include gender and sexuality studies, representations of violence in literature, Lusophone studies, Irish studies, as well as the discipline of Comparative Literature in general. He has teaching experience as a Portuguese language teacher, having taught courses in Literature, Composition, Grammar and Text Interpretation.
