João Rodrigues

João Rodrigues holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (English and German Studies) and a Master’s Degree in German Studies from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. In 2015, he earned his PhD in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies – specialisation in Literature and Culture – from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, with a thesis on the literary representation of surveillance in the novels Surveillance (2006), by Jonathan Raban, and Teil der Lösung (2007), by Ulrich Peltzer. Since 2005, he has taught several English and German language curricular units in polytechnic higher education. His current research interests include literary/cultural studies, tourism and literature studies, and the teaching of languages for specific purposes in higher education.
