Maria Araújo da Silva is, since 2006, Associate Professor in Lusophone Studies Department at the Faculty of Letters of the Sorbonne Université. Author of a doctoral thesis on Maria Ondina Braga, she works on contemporary Portuguese literature and is particularly interested in women’s writing, poetics and politics of the body, gender and queer studies. She co-organized several international conferences and published various articles on the themes of her research in collective volumes and national and international journals of Portuguese-speaking studies.Integrated member of CRIMIC – Sorbonne Université, she co-directed the volumes Femmes oubliées dans les arts et les lettres au Portugal – XIX-XX siècles (with M.-G. Besse, 2016), Exiliance au féminin dans le monde lusophone – XX-XXI siècles (with M.-G. Besse, A. P. Coutinho and M. F. Outeirinho, 2017) and Paris,Mário de Sá-Carneiro et les autres(with F. Curopos, 2017).Among others, she prepares (in codirection) the book Poétiques et politiques du corps dans les aires lusophones (2020). In 2009, she got the Maria Ondina Braga Literary Prize, with an essay on the writer’s work. She is currently president of Éditions Hispaniques.
