Bruno André Almeida is a PhD candidate in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. He holds a BA in Languages, Literatures and Cultures (English and German) and an MA in Anglo-American Studies from the same institution, completed in 2021 with the dissertation “Between Individual and Community: Industrial America and the Odyssey of Christopher McCandless”. His doctoral research focuses on semiotics, intermediality, and Japanese popular culture, with particular emphasis on the transmedial circulation of characters and processes of intercultural reception and appropriation.
