Jade Gabrielle Cruz Nogueira (b. 1998, Manaus) is a researcher in Transnational Studies. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and a Master’s degree in Literary, Cultural, and Interartistic Studies from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, completing her degree with the dissertation “Como é Verde a Floresta do Deus da Montanha”: A Mitologia Florestal no Cinema Japonês Contemporâneo [“How Green is the Forest of the Mountain God”: Forest Mythology in Contemporary Japanese Cinema]. During her academic trajectory, she completed an exchange period at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and co-founded FLUP’s Asian Culture Club. Author of published articles and book chapters, her work addresses Japanese audiovisual mythology, the Nikkei presence in Brazil, gender studies, and decolonial perspectives. She combines her research activity with teaching Japanese and Chinese. Her current research focuses on the identity construction of Japanese immigrants in the Brazilian Amazon as represented in Northern Brazilian literature.
