Maria de Fátima Outeirinho is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, where she teaches in the fields of French Studies and Comparative Literature, having a PHD precisely in the latter with a thesis on O Folhetim em Portugal no Século XIX: uma nova janela no mundo das letras (2003). From 2019 to 2021, she coordinated the Intertransculturalities group within the framework of ILCML’s strategic project, Literature and the frontiers of knowledge: politics of inclusion. She is currently the scientific coordinator of ILCML. Her main research domains are Comparative Literature, French Literature and Culture (18th and 19th Centuries), Literary and Cultural Relations between Portugal and France, Studies on Women, Travel Literature (also a field of teaching). She is the author and organizer of several critical works in these fields.
