Mariana Cepeda holds a Master’s degree in Literary, Cultural and Interart Studies from the University of Porto, where she has developed the dissertation “Fogo-fátuo? Mulheres detetives na ficção policial brasileira”, under the supervision of Prof. Maria de Lurdes Sampaio and Dr. Marinela Freitas. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), where she has also been a part of GRIS, a research group on image and sociability. She has two articles published: “O Céu de Suely: expressão corporal, performatividade de gênero e mulheres possíveis” (2016), in the International Journal of Cinema (Avanca), and “De olhos bem abertos: uma leitura do livro e do filme A Costa dos Murmúrios em diálogo com os Estudos Feministas” (2016), in the Cadernos de Literatura Comparada of the Institute of Comparative Literature Margarida Losa.
