Vítor Silva

Vítor Alves Silva is a researcher and mixed-media artist in the fields of Adaptation Studies, Intermediality and Comparative Literature. His work primarily centers on processes of adaptation, media transposition, relations between different art forms, and broader considerations of intermedial theory. He is particularly interested in literary and theatrical adaptations to film; the politics of media comparison (i.e., how political forces govern the ways we construct, value, or challenge similarities and dissimilarities across media); and the remediation, via contemporary technologies (e.g. streaming platforms), of hybrid forms with deep historical roots, such as Opera and Greek Tragedy. His research has been published and presented across Europe, and his artistic projects have been exhibited nationally and internationally. He is a founding member of the photography collective CÍRCULO.
