The first meeting of the Poetry and Performance Sessions is scheduled for the 27th of September in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.

The Poetry and Performance Sessions are organized by researchers from the Intermedialities research line of the Institute for Comparative Literature Margarida Losa. These are researchers and students from different Portuguese and Brazilian institutions who have focused their studies and interests on the relationship between poetry and performativity in contemporary literary production.

In this first Session, the researchers will present their perspectives, the work they have been developing, and the way they have been working on the relationship between poetry and performance (in terms of research and/or practice-based research).

Artists and researchers with works recognized both nationally and internationally will be invited to each conference. In the first edition, we will have Fernando Aguiar as our guest. He is a poet, artist, performer, and one of Portugal’s leading promoters of festivals dedicated to poetry and performance since the 1980s.
