Rita Novas Miranda

Rita Novas Miranda’s work focuses on the relationships between image and writing, particularly in poetry and cinema. She is assistant professor in Portuguese Studies at Sorbonne University and a researcher of CRIMIC. She has a PhD in Comparative Studies by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (2016), for which she was granted a scholarship from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with a thesis about the works of the poet Herberto Helder and the filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. In 2018, she published Modos de Ver, Modos de Escrever – Da Imagem e da Escrita em Herberto Helder e em Jean-Luc Godard [Ways of Seeing, Ways of Writing: Of Image and Writing in Herberto Helder and Jean-Luc Godard] at Edições Afrontamento (Porto, Portugal). She is an associated researcher of the Institute of Comparative Literature Margarida Losa (Porto, Portugal), where she is part of the research team LyraCompoetics and was, from 2014 to 2017, co-director of the e-magazine ESC:ALA. In 2019, she was granted a scholarship from Cátedra Cascais Interartes of Fundação D. Luís I (Cascais, Portugal) to develop a project about Ana Hatherly and Herberto Helder. From 2019 to 2022, she was a teacher at Paris Nanterre University in the Department of Portuguese and she is an associated researcher of CRILUS.
